ABOUT THE CREATOR

 For more than four decades, I have dedicated my life to building things that last—from serving my country and building homes to teaching students and now creating worlds readers can explore for generations.

I was born William Blackburn, but growing up everyone called me Billy. As I got older, "Billy" naturally became Bill, the name my family, friends, and colleagues still use today.

Ironically, I wasn't much of a reader when I was younger. In high school, one of my teachers encouraged me to read books I probably never would have chosen on my own. One of those books was about the American frontiersman Daniel Boone. Whether every detail was history or legend, the courage, determination, and spirit of exploration associated with Boone left a lasting impression on me.

Years later, while serving 20 years in the United States Army, I discovered a passion for storytelling, worldbuilding, and tabletop role-playing games. When I created a character for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, I named him Boone in honor of that early inspiration. What began as the name of a single character eventually became something much more. Friends, fellow gamers, readers, and people I met online began calling me Boone, and over time the name became part of my identity.

After my military service, I built homes and businesses, taught construction, coached young athletes, and discovering that every meaningful achievement begins with a single foundation stone. Those experiences shaped not only my life but also the values that would later become the heart of my stories.

  Today, I plant new branches in the Worldroot, inviting readers to explore a living universe where every story grows into another adventure. 

I am the founder of Mother Maple Publishing LLC and the creator of Mother Maple: Worldroot, an original epic fantasy universe built around courage, hope, adventure, friendship, and the belief that every choice shapes history.

More than a collection of books, Mother Maple: Worldroot is a living universe where kingdoms rise and fall, dragons soar across ancient skies, forgotten civilizations wait to be rediscovered, and every story becomes part of a much larger journey.

Its flagship series, The Chronicles of Boone, is the gateway into this expanding universe. Future novels, companion books, maps, artwork, timelines, educational resources, and reference guides will continue to grow the Worldroot for years to come.

I didn't create Mother Maple: Worldroot simply to tell stories. I created it to build a living fantasy universe that readers could return to throughout their lives. Every book explores another branch of the Worldroot, every character leaves a legacy, and every adventure reveals another piece of a much larger history. My hope is to create a world that inspires imagination, encourages lifelong learning, and reminds readers that even the smallest choices can change the course of history.
